Unity is a 3D game engine capable of rendering a custom 3D virtual environment and controlling the behavior of objects in that environment using scripting. In Unity’s environment design console, an experimenter can design a 3D environment out of basic building blocks such as cubes and planes. The subject’s viewpoint is represented by the Main Camera object, which can have scripts attached to it to control the subject’s movement throughout the environment. Unity will automatically handle the physics of the environment, such as gravity and collisions.
